Suicide bomber arrested in Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) detained a militant of an international terrorist organization. Press center of the state committee reported.

The militant of the international terrorist organization Katibat al Tawhid wal-Jihad was detained on March 24 as part of detection and suppression of religious extremist and terrorist groups.

He had previously undergone sabotage training in Syria, studied use of explosives and participated in hostilities against the forces of the anti-terrorist coalition.

As it became known, the detainee, on the instructions of the leaders of this international terrorist organization, was sent from Syria to one of the countries of the region to commit a terrorist attack as a suicide bomber.

The detainee was placed in the remand prison of SCNS of the Kyrgyz Republic. Investigative measures continue.
