Professor of medicine, Hero of Kyrgyzstan Ernst Akramov was awarded the Chingiz Aitmatov medal. It became known today at a press conference in Bishkek. The award was presented by the Secretary of the Issyk-Kul Forum named after Chingiz Aitmatov Assol Moldokmatova.

«For many years Ernst Khashimovich has not only saved the people of Kyrgyzstan, but also made a huge contribution to the development of culture in the republic. We all remember the famous «Akramov Nights.» Chingiz Torekulovich respected and appreciated you very much for your work and your attitude towards people,» she said.

Ernst Akramov thanked those present and said this award was very valuable to him.

In March, the Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev announced closure of the Ernst Akramov Research Center for Reconstructive Surgery in the Chui Regional Hospital.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov reported on May 24 that the decision to name the Chui Regional Hospital after Ernst Akramov was approved.
