Broadcasting of five Russian TV channels has been resumed in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the Licensing Control Department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Bektur Ibragimov told 24-kg.com news agency.
According to him, licenses of five TV channels of the Russian Federation: Channel 8, RTV Media, NTV KG, Domashny and EmTV have been revoked in December last year. Previously, they were issued warnings and fined. These channels did not comply with the language policy. By law, 50 percent of the content must be provided in the state language. «These TV channels corrected the violation and broadcasting was resumed,» Bektur Ibragimov said.
The Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan issued permits to two radio and three TV channels for six months.
