Cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov to meet with Bishkek residents and visit school

Events with the participation of a cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov, a native of Kyrgyzstan, will take place in Bishkek on the occasion of Cosmonautics Day and the 145th anniversary of the capital. Press service of the City Hall reported.

The cosmonaut was born on September 1, 1984 in Frunze. On March 18, 2022, he made his first flight into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Soyuz MS-21 transport manned spacecraft to the International Space Station as the flight engineer. He returned to earth on September 29, 2022. The flight lasted more than 194 days.

During his visit to Bishkek, Sergey Korsakov will lay flowers at the bust of the world’s first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin at school No. 25 and at the memorial plaque on the building of the Bishkek Humanities University, meet with teachers and students of school No. 24, where he studied, as well as with the finalists of the essay competition among schoolchildren of the capital.

A meeting with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and leading scientists is scheduled for April 13. An open meeting with Sergey Korsakov «The Road to the Stars Begins in Bishkek» will take place at the National History Museum. On the same day, the film «The Time of the First Ones» will be screened (6 p.m. at the National History Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic).
