Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan plan to host Asian Cup in 2035

Three Central Asian countries — Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — intend to submit a joint bid to host Asia’s premier national football competition, led by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in 2035. The famous football expert and functionary Alisher Nikimbaev posted on his Telegram channel.

«I have no right to speak officially. But, as far as I understand, this is exactly how everything is planned for 2035. And there is already informal approval from the AFC (Asian Football Confederation),» Nikimbaev noted in response to a question about the possibility of holding the Asian Cup at stadiums in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

One of the subscribers noted that these countries have all the necessary conditions for holding the tournament: a new stadium is being built in Bishkek, the old ones are being reconstructed, a new stadium is also being built in Dushanbe, and the existing facilities can be put in order in Khujand. There are already several stadiums in Uzbekistan that meet FIFA requirements.

For example, Uzbekistan has experience in hosting major international football competitions, which hosted the U-20 and U-23 Asian Cups. Also, in 2023, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan jointly hosted the first ever adult CAFA Cup.

The hosts of the tournament automatically receive a right to participate in the Asian Cup.
