Svetlana (Aslanaiym) Ashirova has been appointed Director of the Kyrgyz State Circus named after Abubakir Izibaev. The press service of the Ministry of Culture reported.

The newly appointed director was introduced to the staff and creative troupe of the circus by the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov.

The former director of the circus Ryskul Borombaev was dismissed from his post due to transfer to another job.

Svetlana (Aslanaiym) Ashirova had worked as the artistic director of the circus.

Reconstruction of the circus is nearing completion. It is promised to be opened in November. Major repairs began on the instructions of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic after his unplanned visit in July 2023.
