It is proposed to reformat the Investment Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan into a Council for Business Development and Investments under the Cabinet. The initiative is put forward by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
As the developers of the amendments to the relevant government resolution explained, this is being done at the request of business representatives.
According to the department, the main goal of the Council is not only to improve the investment climate, but also to improve the business environment in the Kyrgyz Republic through interaction with business, as well as to develop recommendations and proposals for government agencies and local government bodies on issues of improving the business environment.
At the same time, the functions of the Council are being expanded in terms of organizing and holding consultations, meetings, conferences, workshops, forums and other organizational and informational events related to its activities and aimed at improving the business environment and investment climate, developing a mechanism for public-private partnership and improving the mechanisms of legal protection of business entities.
It is proposed to empower the secretary and secretariat of the Council with the authority to collect and analyze problematic issues raised by business representatives and develop proposals for their solution.
In addition, given the need to conduct specialized research and expert assessments, it is proposed to include in the Council representatives from the scientific field, specialized analytical and expert organizations with the relevant competence.
