The U.S. Department of State has canceled funding for foreign aid projects in various countries, including Belarus, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan. The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) reported.
DOGE also posted on its social media account that «Secretary of State Marco Rubio continues to closely review foreign aid from the U.S. Department of State — today, 139 useless grants worth $215 million were canceled.»
Including the $2.4 million program «Responding to Disinformation through Creative Content in Belarus» was canceled.
The grants for programs worth $2 million in Moldova, $2.5 million in Uzbekistan, and $750,000 in Kyrgyzstan were cut.
It is known that DOGE also canceled State Department’s programs in Armenia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Great Britain, Libya, Mauritania, Tunisia, and Sri Lanka.
A total of 139 foreign programs worth $215 million were cancelled.
