The Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sergei Vakunov and the representative of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) Kojiro Nakai, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, and municipal authorities of Chui region, monitored the implementation of food aid projects financed by the Russian government in a number of villages of Chui region. The Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission reported.
The program of the trip included a visit to school No. 3 in Kara-Balta city, where, thanks to the WFP project financed by Russia, about 640 children currently receive hot school meals. The diplomats took part in a master class on preparing healthy dishes.
From 2008 to the present, the Russian Federation has allocated more than $112 million for the implementation of WFP programmes in Kyrgyzstan.
