The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan is initiating the introduction of a new type of allowance for families with children living in high-mountain areas. The corresponding document has been submitted for public discussion.
In December 2024, amendments were made to the law on state benefits, providing for additional financial support for families with children under three years old living in high-mountain and remote settlements, as well as in certain border areas with a special status.
A new type of allowance will be introduced in Kyrgyzstan from January 1, 2026.
The amount, procedure for the assigning and payment of the monthly allowance «biyik tooluu aimaktardyn zhashoochoularyna komok» are approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
An interdepartmental working group, which includes representatives of ministries and departments, as well as experts, is working to determine the mechanism for the assignment and payment of the allowance.
The right to be assigned «biyik tooluu aimaktardyn zhashoochoularyna komok» is granted to citizens living in settlements located in high-mountain and remote hard-to-reach areas, in certain border areas with a special status, regardless of their social and economic status and receipt of other types of state benefits:
The amount of the monthly allowance is set at 3,000 soms.
Families living in settlements located in high-mountain and hard-to-reach areas, as well as in certain border areas with a special status, have the right to receive only one type of state benefit for the third and each subsequent child until they reach three years of age. That is, families receiving «ui bulogo komok» allowance cannot receive a new one.
