President expresses condolences to Vatican on passing of Pope Francis

The President of Kyrgyzstan has extended his condolences to Cardinal Kevin Farrell following the death of Pope Francis. Sadyr Japarov sent a telegram to the Vatican.

«I received with great sorrow the sad news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. On behalf of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and on my own behalf, I extend sincere condolences to you, the Holy See, and all Catholics, and I share your grief.

I warmly recall my meeting with His Holiness Pope Francis in the Vatican on October 4, 2024. His Holiness made a significant contribution to the promotion of humanism, tolerance, forgiveness, compassion, and mutual understanding among nations, leaving an indelible mark on world history,» the telegram reads.

Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at 7.35 a.m. local time in the Vatican. His health had significantly deteriorated in the months leading up to his death. In February, he was hospitalized with bronchitis, and was later diagnosed with double pneumonia and early-stage kidney failure.
