Man's head smashed with stone in Kara-Balta, suspect detained

Law enforcement officers detained a suspect in a case involving serious bodily harm inflicted during a conflict in a café. The press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Chui region informed 24-kg.com news agency.

On April 2, the Internal Affairs Department of Jaiyl district received a report from the local hospital about the hospitalization of a 36-year-old man, E.K., with a severe head injury. The incident was registered under the article «Causing grievous bodily harm» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. A preliminary investigation was launched.

Investigators identified the suspect and clarified the circumstances of the conflict. The suspect, 36-year-old M.A., was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. It was established that around 5 a.m. on April 2, a conflict broke out between the two men in a café in the city of Kara-Balta, during which M.A. struck E.K. on the head with a stone and fled the scene.
