A solemn event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the outstanding poet, playwright, translator and classic of Kyrgyz literature Alykul Osmonov was held in Moscow at the Margarita Rudomino All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature, within the framework of which a reissued collection of his poems «My Home» was presented. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Kubanychbek Bokontaev emphasized the significant contribution of Alykul Osmonov to the development of Kyrgyz literature, poetry and the cultural heritage of the people. He noted that the poet’s work is imbued with genuine feelings of friendship and spiritual closeness, contributing to the strengthening of Kyrgyzstan-Russia allied relations.
Deputy Director General of the library Vladimir Markov expressed confidence that the new edition of the collection will open up the rich world of Kyrgyz lyric poetry and epic poetry to Russian readers, further strengthening the cultural dialogue between the peoples.
Guests also watched a documentary about the poet’s life and work. Students of the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School and the Moscow State Linguistic University from the Kyrgyz Republic read poems, and the folklore group Keremet performed songs based on his poems.
