Batken district of Kyrgyzstan hosted Oruk Gulu (Apricot Blossom) Festival. It is aimed at promoting domestic tourism, preserving cultural heritage and strengthening cross-border cooperation.
The ceremony was attended by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Batken region Aibek Shamenov, head of Batken district Danir Imanaliev, his deputy Zhumagul Satybaldyeva, heads of ayil okmotu, heads of departments, as well as official delegations from Uzbekistan — heads of Rishtan and Sokh districts, representatives of the business community and local residents.
«Today’s event carries a special spirit—it has not only cultural value but also spiritual significance. We are showcasing unique apricot‑based products, listening to poetry dedicated to this symbol of our land, and creating an atmosphere that attracts both tourists and potential investors,» he said.
The festival included fairs of traditional products, exhibitions of apricot products, and gastronomic expositions reflecting the heritage of folk crafts and customs passed down from generation to generation. Particular attention was paid to works by local artisans and national cuisine dishes.
