Earthquake in Istanbul: MFA asks Kyrgyzstanis to remain calm

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan is closely monitoring the situation following earthquakes in Silivri and Buyukcekmece districts on the outskirts of Istanbul (Turkey). The press service of the ministry reported.

According to it, at the moment, there are no reports of casualties among Kyrgyzstanis or significant damage.

«The MFA strongly recommends citizens of Kyrgyzstan staying in Istanbul and its environs remain calm and strictly follow the instructions of local authorities and emergency services. Compatriots can seek help from the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul by calling the emergency number: +905351077212,» the statement says.

The Consulate General maintains constant contact with the Turkish authorities to promptly receive information and, if necessary, is ready to provide the necessary consular assistance to citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
