Security services detained the head of the State Agency for Control over the Production and Circulation of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcoholic Products under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic T.A.A. (Toktogulov Almaz Anvarbekovich) and the owner of a private company. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
«Data was received on the fact of patronage by the director of the state agency T.A.A. of the illegal activities of the special consumer of ethyl alcohol, Nur&Ai Company LLC. It was found out that in 2023, Nur&Ai Company LLC was included in the list of special consumers and entities using ethyl alcohol for medical, veterinary, technical and other purposes, according to which the said company could purchase ethyl alcohol from the state enterprise Kara-Balta Alcohol Plant under a quota without paying excise tax,» the statement says.
Thus, according to the security services, the head of Nur&Ai Company T.R.Zh., having secured the support of the director of the state agency, sold the purchased alcohol for other purposes to individuals in Bishkek and Chui region for a certain monetary reward.
As a result, the state suffered damage on an especially large scale. Almaz Toktogulov and the owner of the private company Nur&Ai Company T.R.Zh. were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security on April 24. Currently, relevant investigative and operational measures are ongoing with respect to other participants in the corruption scheme for further detention and prosecution.
