A meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Iran was held on April 28 in Tehran. The press service of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Sydykov and the Minister of Agriculture of Iran Dr. Gholamreza Nouri (Nouri-Ghezeljeh).
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues and key areas of bilateral cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy, logistics and transport, digitalization, humanitarian cooperation, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, a final protocol was signed covering a wide range of cooperation and the implementation of joint activities. The parties reached an agreement on the adoption of coordinated measures aimed at further expanding trade, economic and humanitarian ties between the states.
During the visit, Bakyt Sydykov also held bilateral talks with Gholamreza Nouri-Geseljeh. The sides discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, including trade in agricultural products, the introduction and use of agricultural technologies, and the training of specialists.
Particular attention was paid to issues of food security, sustainable agricultural production, and the planned signing of a framework agreement on the establishment of a Kyrgyz-Iranian Investment Committee.
In addition, Bakyt Sydykov met with the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Mohammad Atabak. The parties discussed issues of expanding industrial cooperation, technology exchange, creating joint ventures, and attracting investment. Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the field of mineral resources and light industry, as well as measures to support the business community and the creation of a permanent platform for industrial cooperation.
