The second meeting of Transport Ministers of Central Asian countries and China was held in Astana, attended by official delegations from six countries. Kyrgyzstan was represented by Absattar Syrgabaev.
The participants discussed the current state of the transport sector both regionally and globally, as well as the prospects for better use of the existing potential in economic, trade, and humanitarian cooperation between China and the countries of the region.
The heads of Transport Ministries emphasized the importance of developing a joint multilateral cooperation program in the transport sector. This would enable the implementation of electronic document management, real-time cargo tracking, and simplification of international road transport procedures, including digitizing the exchange of foreign permit forms.
At the end of the meeting, two documents were signed: a Memorandum of Understanding on the digitalization of international road transport, and a Memorandum of Understanding between transport agencies.
Special attention was paid to simplifying border crossing procedures between China and the Central Asian states for road and rail transportation.
The parties also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the training of professional personnel and supported the creation of a mechanism for collaboration between research and analytical institutions.
