Informal summit of OTS leaders to be held in Budapest

An informal summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will take place on May 20–21, 2025 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The organization’s secretariat reported.

The summit will be hosted by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and attended by the Presidents of the OTS member states—Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. In addition, representatives of OTS observer states and the Secretary General of the Organization will also take part in it.

This summit is notable for being the first in OTS history to be organized by an observer state, highlighting Hungary’s consistent role in deepening comprehensive cooperation with Turkic countries.

Held under the motto «Meeting Point of East and West,» the informal summit will provide an important opportunity for the heads of state to advance cooperation in key areas and to discuss common regional and global issues.

The summit is expected to result in the adoption of the Budapest Declaration, which will reaffirm the shared vision and strategic direction of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the announcement of several important decisions and initiatives.

Ahead of the summit, the OTS Council of Foreign Ministers will convene in Budapest to prepare the summit agenda and final variants of documents to be presented to the heads of state for consideration.
