At least 2,669 children in a difficult life situation were detected in the course of the conducted activities in the field of protection of the rights and interests of children and families in the first quarter of 2025. The press service of the Ministry of Labor of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to its data, among them 161 children suffered from various types of violence. By court decision, 195 children were placed under guardianship and tutorship, 167 children were adopted, 52 children were placed in specialized residential institutions. Documents have been prepared for 56 orphans for the opening of the state children’s deposit Kelechekke Salym (contribution to the future).
Special attention is paid to the children of labor migrants: since the beginning of the year, more than 251,000 door-to-door visits have been conducted, during which 83,809 children of migrants were identified.
The ministry continues to work on developing the foster family system: 243 children are being raised in 113 foster families, and 48 candidates are being registered with the department’s territorial divisions.
At least 1,522 meetings of children’s commissions were held in 2024 at local government administrations and City Halls, aimed at protecting the rights of minors and preventing offenses.
