Illegal import of gold jewelry into Kyrgyzstan thwarted

Officers from the Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan thwarted an attempt to illegally import gold jewelry into the country.

Specifically, during a baggage check at Osh Airport, gold jewelry (bracelets, chains, and earrings) from EAEU member states with a total value of over 13.9 million soms was discovered without the appropriate accompanying documents.

Relevant reports have been drawn up regarding the illegal import. Measures will be taken in accordance with Kyrgyz legislation.

The State Tax Service continues to actively identify and prevent the circulation of unaccounted and contraband goods within the country.
