Kyrgyzstani Ikhtiyar Nishonov won a bronze medal at the World Boxing Championships which is currently underway in Dubai. The Boxing Federation reported.
In the 71-kilogram weight class, the athlete lost to Aiblaikhan Zhusupov from Kazakhstan in the semifinals.
Previously, Ikhtiyar Nishonov knocked out athletes from Australia and Thailand, then defeated a representative of Moldova.
Another Kyrgyzstani, Omar Livaza (63.5 kilograms), has reached the final of the World Boxing Championships.
