Police officers detained a local council deputy in Jalal-Abad on the fact of a rally and arson of a gold extraction plant in Toguz-Toro district. Interior Ministry Department for the region informed 24-kg.com news agency.
It is specified that the deputy of the local council was detained on suspicion of organizing riots.
«Investigation is underway. The suspect was placed in a pretrial detention center. The court chose a preventive measure in form of an arrest for two months for him. In total, three people were detained after the unrest in Toguz-Toro district,» the police department reported.
In April 2018, residents of Toguz-Toro district held rally and set the gold mining facilities under construction on fire.
The police opened a criminal case on the facts.
